WingateWeb Names David Preston as Director in the UK

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – May 8, 2008 – WingateWeb®, part of The Active Network and the leading provider of event management software, today announced that David Preston has been appointed director of its European operations. Preston brings over 15 years of experience in global events marketing management. He will be based in the company’s UK office and will be responsible for overseeing all WingateWeb business operations in Europe.

Prior to joining WingateWeb, Preston was managing director of Delegate Management Services (DMS), a subsidiary of Grass Roots Group that provides web registration services to the conference and event industry. While there, Preston was responsible for developing its globalization strategy where he managed a team of 68 employees split between the United States and the UK, helped penetrate new market segments and expanded its product portfolio through strategic alliances. Before that, Preston worked for IBM for over 20 years in its New York and Paris office holding various senior management positions in both marketing and technology.
